Mesatop Press of Minneapolis released the first edition of the book, which was aimed at the wealthy parents of very young children, in 2001. An expanded version pertaining to wealthy parents with children ages 5, 12 and 20, was released in late 2014.
Authors Barbara R. Hauser and Suzy Peterfriend have spent decades working with wealthy families. Barbara as a trusts and estates lawyer; Suzy as someone involved with family wealth preservation centered around intergenerational wealth transfer for global families.
“As parents ourselves, we kept thinking that the right time to begin talking with children about money was at a very early age— as soon as they asked any questions at all. Then the communications could continue in a natural and positive way throughout the growing-up years,” say the authors in the book’s introduction.
Copies of both versions of Mommy Are We Rich? Talking to Children About Family Money are available for purchase on Amazon.com.
